Summer in North America is over. It’s already September. 2012 is almost over.

Priscilla Manna

My beautiful wife at 31.5 weeks!

These are some of the realities that have been slapping me in the face lately. To the list I can add:

The blog has been quiet lately.  We are three weeks away from our first baby’s due date. I am still adjusting to my new church and role as associate. We are still looking for a house. Until we do, I am still commuting about 3 hours roundtrip to work and back. Days are long and sleep is little.

Yes, I feel the pinch of life now more than ever, but I have never felt so alive and well! Instead of blogging, my wife and I have been busy studying and researching what our new role as parents will entail and we have enjoyed this whole process. It has brought us even closer together as husband and wife. I love our baby even though he hasn’t even been born yet.

I make no apologies for spending less time researching and writing for this blog since my  priority is my family.

Priscilla and I (and our baby)

Don’t misunderstand that last statement. You are important!  What we do as worshipdrummers is important and I wouldn’t dream of throwing in the towel on worshipdrummer.ca. You must know that I am evermore committed to continuing to grow this blog as a great resource for our army of worshipdrummers. We’ll be around for a long, long time.

What I will say is that at the end of the day, who we are is more important than what we do. We are sons and daughters of God. Husbands/wives, fathers/mothers, sons/daughters. We have God-given roles that we must serve in. Drumming is something that we do, it should never define who we are.

If I can ask one personal favor here on this blog it would be this: please pray for Priscilla and I and our baby (due October 3). We are praying for a healthy baby and also that God would help us become great and godly parents.

Lastly, this blog is not dead! It’s just moving at a slower pace for now. Love you guys and hope to keep you updated on our progress!

Peace!

Jon

For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.Ephesians 2:10 (NLT)
